HyInnoChem is part of the Hydrogen Clusters4future framework, which focuses on electrification of chemical industries. The primary objective of this project is to achieve the electro-generation of highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solutions (> 10 wt.%) as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to the conventional and fossil-based anthraquinone technique that is widely utilized in chemical industries. This novel approach not only facilitates the utilization of green electricity derived from renewable energy sources but also serves as a stepping stone towards the implementation of a circular economy, given the modular and decentralized nature of electrochemical techniques. To realize this ambitious goal, the Electra infrastructure serves as the fundamental platform, providing the necessary facilities for synthesizing catalysts, fabricating electrodes, designing electrochemical cells, and operating them under well-defined conditions. By harnessing the capabilities of Electra, HyInnoChem aims to revolutionize hydrogen peroxide production, fostering a more sustainable and environmentally conscious chemical industry that aligns with the principles of green energy and circular economy.
