ELECTRA is an infrastructure project with two investment focuses at RWTH Aachen and the Forschungszentrum Jülich. At the Forschungszentrum Jülich, a new building for electrochemical research is being constructed. Research will be conducted on key areas such as electrocatalysis, electrode development, and in-operando analytics of electrochemical processes. At RWTH Aachen, nine walk-in fume hoods have been equipped with new infrastructure, which includes a modular, adaptable setup with peripheral devices such as pumps and potentiostats, online analysis equipment including gas chromatography (GC), and modular electrochemical cells. Additionally, equipment for electrode manufacturing has been acquired. The research focus at RWTH encompasses membrane development, reactor design, as well as reaction and process development.
